XL Insurance appoints chief underwriting officer for North America Programs

XL Insurance, the global insurance operations of XL Group, has promoted Mary Lavoie, vice president of underwriting, to senior vice president, chief underwriting officer for North America Programs.

As a chief underwriting officer, Lavoie will take on greater underwriting management responsibility for XL's North America Programs unit.

Lavoie's expanded responsibilities include establishing underwriting criteria and processes, overseeing coverage management and product pricing, and coordinating underwriting support.

Before to XL Group, she served as vice president of treaty underwriting for Overseas Partners US Reinsurance and also spent 16 years with The Travelers.

XL Insurance's North America Programs group specializes in customized program solutions for program administrators.
